Introducing Contact Manager

Get Your Life Organized

Say "Goodbye" to Rollodexes, business card scanners, business card wallets, personal address books, yellow sticky notes, 3 x 5 cards, loose papers, and whatever else you've pressed into service for your contact lists - even word processing files and spreadsheet files. In fact, forget about trying to force your email software into acting like a database system for your contact list. Forget about having to enter your contact list into multiple programs, just because no one program is comprehensive enough to do the whole job.

Contact Manager is a one-stop comprehensive solution for your Personal Information Management needs - and it's FREE, with no strings attached, and you're welcome to freely install it on all of your machines - even in your whole company's enterprise - with no legal mumbo-jumbo restrictions, like other Personal Information Managers, which require you to pay for a license for each copy you use, even if you, yourself just want to install separate copies on your desktop and laptop machines.

Look at what you get in Contact Manager:
  • An Address Book

    • All of the standard info: Name, Address, Phone, Fax, Email, Special Notes.
    • Grouping feature - organize your Contacts into Groups, such as "Business", "Personal", etc.
      • Any Contact can be a member of multiple Groups simultaneously.
      • Each Group also doubles as an Email List (see below)

  • An Historical Log

    • Type in a note when you have some kind of communication with someone. Each note will be date-and-time-stamped and associated with that specific Contact. Thus, you'll build for yourself a structured, exacting, historical record of your interactions with each Contact.
    • At any time during the day, you can display a list of the Contacts for which you've entered data for that day.  This way you can pace yourself and monitor your progress throughout the day.

  • A To-Do List (i.e. Tickler File)

    • Here's an answer to the delemna of having so many things to do that you have trouble even remembering them all, let alone getting them done: a computerized to-do list.
    • Write your action-item-to-do, associate it with a specific Contact, assign it a "due date", and then forget about it until the computer tells you to get to work on it!

  • A Powerful Email-based Communications Tool

    • Contact Manager has outgoing email capability built into it, allowing you to use Contact Manager both as a repository for your general information about each Contact and as a master directory of everyone's email addresses. Thus, you'll be able to leverage your Contact-information investment by doing your emailing directly from Contact Manager.
    • Email can be sent out either by Contact or by Group.  If sent by Contact, you can choose any number of Contacts from within a Group to send email.  If sent by Group, you can choose one or more Groups to send email to.  Because each Group can contain many Contacts, you can efficiently send email to large numbers of people.
    • Protect your email list - In a day where Internet theft is running at an all-time-high, it's more important than ever to protect your email list.
      • Forget about using "BCC" so as to protect your email addresses. Some mail systems - or backbone routers - have a limit as to how many "BCC" addresses can be associated with a single email address. Problem is, if some link on the Internet truncates your BCC list, you'll never know that some of your contacts never received your email. This has happened to us numerous times - and it's one of the motivating factors which drove us to develop Contact Manager!
      • Forget about signing up with one of those free List Servers at the mega-portal sites on the Internet. Do you really want to hand over your precious contact list to these strangers? If so, why? And have you read the "fine print" of their "agreements"? One mega-portal states in writing that the emails passing through their mail system become their property. Is this the way you want to operate?
      • How about keeping your contact list to yourself - on your own computer? How about a system whereby you will know for sure whether your email to someone bounced back to you - so that you'll know for sure that they got it if it didn't bounce back? This is what you can have now, because with Contact Manager, your contact list stays on your own computer, and emails are sent out one at a time to each Contact you selected.  Yes, it takes longer, but it practically guarantees delivery, and each recipient receives an email which was truly addressed to them, not to a huge group (via "TO" or "CC"), and not to an "undisclosed recipient" list (via "BCC").
    • Personalize your emails; another breakthrough feature.  Contact Manager can optionally personalize each and every outgoing email.  Emails can start with "Hello, Tom," for example, where "Tom" is the first name of that Contact as listed in Contact Manager's database.  Similarly, the Subject Line of the email can be personalized, such as:  "Tom: meeting tonight" .  Again, the Contact's first name can be inserted into the Subject Line of the email.  These features takes some of the "sting" out of bulk email, and arguably increase the chances that those receiving your emails will open them and read them.

  • An Upgradable Investment

    • Sandy Hook Software Corp. is giving away the "Standard" version of Contact Manager for your use - whether for personal, educational, non-profit, business professional or other use.  There is no time-limit on this software; it should continue to work indefinitely. But before then, we'll be upgrading it, and we'll notify our Users of significant upgrades which they'll be able to download - again, for free.
    • A "Professional" version of Contact Manager is now being developed, with enhanced features, including some very powerful workgroup, multi-user, mobile and productivity-enhancing features.  When Contact Manager Professional is available, we will notify the Users of Contact Manager Standard who are on our mailing list.  Should you choose to upgrade to "Professional" at that time, your investment in "Standard" will be preserved.  If you don't want to upgrade, you'll be able to continue using "Standard", free of charge.
